About the Autistic
Simply put, I am autistic. More specifically I have Asperger’s syndrome. I do not characterize myself as having a “disorder” or that I need to be “cured”. My offspring (yes, I realize the faux pas of using the word offspring instead of children) are wonderful Kanners autistics. Wanting them to be “normal” equates to wanting the loving, kind, and intelligent persons that they are today to be murdered and replaced with the cold, uncaring “neurotypical” people like the ones who want to “cure” them. The desire to end the life of someone else or the life of oneself is a symptom of a mental disorder! Yet people like me are classified by society as victims of a neurological epidemic?

Ok, to be fair I believe God gave unto man his agency. Meaning that we all have the right to chose what we say and do, we also have to deal with the consequences thereof. So I have to acknowledge a parents choice to do what they believe is right concerning their own offspring. I have no issue with research that will allow a parent to “cure” their child. However, I refuse to support any treatment that is pushed upon an individual(s) through legal or economic manipulations. As to prevention, the only way to prevent the cases of genetic autism are the same way they prevent trisomy 21 (aka Down’s Syndrome)…genocide through abortion. I do not wish to communicate weather I am pro-choice or pro-life, instead I wish to convey that I am anti-genocidal. Killing anyone based on race, religion, creed, gender, sexual-orientation, or disability is wrong.
I believe in neurodiversity. You want to do research to enrich the lives of people on the spectrum? Good! You have my full support. You demand to “cure” me or my offspring just because were different, then I fully support you to making the choice to drive off that bridge without your children, that way you can no longer directly affect the gene pool.
